Opposition Spokesperson on Tourism, Janice Allen has pledged to collaborate with industry stakeholders, local authorities and relevant Government agencies to effectively address the underlying issues contributing to criminal activities which threaten the tourism product.

Her commitment comes in the wake of an armed robbery at a St Ann-based hotel yesterday (June 23).

The police have launched a high-level probe into the incident.

Ms Allen said incidents such as this, not only threaten the lives and well-being of individuals but also jeopardize Jamaica’s reputation as a safe and hospitable destination.
