The opposition is again calling for the government to offer relief to consumers amidst rising oil prices globally.

The call was made by Opposition Spokesman on Energy Phillip Paulwell who noted that the move would ease the burden on consumers.

Mr. Paulwell said in previous times, adjustments were made under less dire circumstances.

With a 2.4 billion dollar profit being forecast for Petrojam this year, he questioned whether or not the government would consider the adjustment.

In response Energy Minister Daryl Vaz said the decision would have to be discussed in Cabinet and with the Ministry of Finance.
