Opposition Spokesperson for Justice Senator Donna Scott-Mottley, says yesterday’s shooting death of 5-year-old Denique Salmon, represents another reason for the government to approach the fight against crime, with the same enthusiasm shown for the Covid-19 vaccination efforts.
Salmon was killed sometime after 1:00 a.m. in New Haven, Duhaney Park, St. Andrew, when stray bullets stemming from a shootout between gunmen, entered her home, hitting her in the head.
Noting that the child’s death was a result of gang warfare, Senator Scott-Mottley says, more must be done to protect communities from criminals.
She was speaking during today’s meeting of the Senate.
