Parents of stolen baby seek compensation from VJH

by February 12th, 2019

Discussions are expected to commence soon, with the administration of the Victoria jubilee hospital, regarding compensation for the couple whose baby was stolen from the hospital last month.

The revelation was made by attorney at law, Peter Champagnie.

Suzette Whyte and Sinclair Hutton retained the services of the well-known attorney after their baby was snatched from the Victoria Jubilee Hospital on January 9.

The baby was returned to them last Friday.

This came after police held a woman last week, who showed up at the Registrar General’s Department in St. Catherine attempting to register the baby, but gave conflicting information.

A DNA test later revealed the baby was the one stolen from the hospital.

Police have charged the woman 27 year old sales clerk Peta-Gaye Ffrench, with child stealing.

In an interview with Irie FM News this afternoon (Feb 12) Champagnie said he will also be monitoring the case that will be brought before the court, later this week.

Since the incident, the management of the Victoria Jubilee Hospital revealed that changes have been made to security arrangements at the health facility.
