Jamaican international Peter Lee Vassel came on as an 85th minute substitute and helped Los Angeles Fc to a 2-1 win over sporting Kansas City in their opening game in the new US Major League Soccer season last in night.

The winning goal was scored by Adama Diomande in the 4th minute of time added on.

Vasell selected as the number 40th pick by Los Angeles football club in the 2019 US Major League Soccer (MLS) draft.

The 19-year-old Vassell was one of the few players who was not selected out of college, after playing professionally for Harbour View FC since 2017.

He has eight senior caps for his country and has scored five goals.
