A pilot project for the new rural school bus transportation system, will be done by the end of this year.

Transport Minister Daryl Vaz made the disclosure during a tour of the Half Way Tree Transport Centre in Kingston, yesterday.

Last month, the minister outlined the plan for the implementation of the new bus system, as a major part of his vision for the transformation of the sector.

Minister Vaz said the new system will ensure safe, secure, and efficient transportation for students.

He said discussions about the project, are far advanced.
