Technology Minister Daryl Vaz says plans are in motion to have 189 communities across the island accessing the internet, through public WIFI hotspots.

Noting that the government could not realistically provide internet access to all homes in the country, Mr. Vaz explains that each Member of Parliament was asked to recommend three locations within their constituency for public WIFI hotspots.

The Technology Minister says the implementation of these WIFI hotspots will be done in phases.

He listed the communities that will be targeted in the first phase, while addressing Parliament yesterday (September 28).
