Pleasant 2-1 start to Mount Pleasant in the Red Stripe Premier League

New comers Mount Pleasant started life in the Red Stripe Premier League on a winning note yesterday.

This after clipping defending champions Portmore United 2-1 at the Spanish Town Prison Oval .

Devon Hodges gave Mount Pleasant the lead after 6 minutes before Rosario Harriot pulled Portmore United level in the 11th minute.

However Suelae Mccalla would ensure that the new comers would leave with all three points when he found the winner in the 94th minute.

Winning coach Donovan Duckie says it was a total team effort that led to the victory.

In other games, Cavalier blanked Reno 2-nil at Frome courtesy of goals in either half from Alex Marshall who netted in minute 27 and Claudius Blackburn who scored in the 75th minute.

Tivoli were also 2-nil winners over the western powerhouse Mobay United at Catherine Hall, with goals from Howard Morris in the 24th minute, and Barrington Pryce  4 minutes from time.

In the late game Arnett Gardens clipped humble lion 2-1, Vishunul Hariss in the 2nd and Javoni Simms in the 43rd netted for the jungulists , while Craig foster found the consolation for the losers.

The UWI vs Harbor View game was postponed due to a waterlogged field.

In the Monday night feature debutants Dunbeholden will play away to last season’s beaten finalists Waterhouse in an 8.35pm start.
