Prime Minister Andrew Holness is expected to outline stricter Covid-19 measures this evening (August 9).

The Prime Minister is to host a digital press briefing at 6:30.

The press briefing comes as measures which took effect on July 27, are slated to expire tomorrow (August 10) and as Covid-19 cases and hospitalisations continue to rise.

Since last Thursday (August 5), the number of new Covid-19 cases each day has surpassed two hundred and in some instances, 300.

Hospitals are under pressure as bed space is limited.

Those issues are expected to be addressed in the briefing.
