PM Holness donates laptops to students, NAJ, JLS

Prime Minster Andrew Holness says the donation of laptop computers to some students in 4 constituencies, will help further develop the computer literacy of Jamaicans.

Student beneficiaries are from the constituencies of East Rural St. Andrew, St. Catherine South, Kingston Western, and St. Catherine Central.

Laptops were also donated to the nurses association of Jamaica and the Jamaica Library Service.

The devices were gifted by international companies, Lenovo and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD).

This is the second year government has partnered with the companies in the initiative aimed at assisting children and agencies in need of technological aid.

Mr. Holness says in the digital age, it is important to improve the standards of learning and operating across the island.

He stressed that technology is important to development.
