PMI to do walk through in August Town tomorrow

by January 29th, 2018

The Peace Management Initiative (PMI) along with other stakeholders will conduct a walk through in the August Town community in St. Andrew tomorrow (January 30) in an effort to quell tension.

This comes after a quadruple murder last Friday night, which is said to have resulted from an on-going feud in the community.

Executive Director of the Peace Management Initiative Damion Hutchinson says there are multiple reports about the reason for the murders.

Mr. Hutchinson says the atmosphere is still tense and residents have expressed fear with the on-going feud.

He notes that a meeting was held today with residents and a plan is being ironed out, detailing how the PMI and community members, can quell the on-going feud.

He explains that the walk through tomorrow will be aimed at reducing tension in August Town.

In the meantime, the curfew in August Town St. Andrew is expected to be lifted at 6 o clock this evening.
