Opposition leader Mark Golding is calling on the government to implement comprehensive measures to cater to the vulnerable population in the country that will be negatively impacted by the seven-day lockdown announced yesterday.
Speaking in a press conference this morning, Mr. Golding said many Jamaicans work day to day to survive and as such the 7-day lockdown will affect them tremendously.
Mr. Golding said the government has failed to prepare the impoverished in the country for the lockdown.
The no-movement days announced by the Prime Minister are Sunday to Tuesday, August 22 to 24; Sunday to Tuesday, August 29 to 31, and Sunday, September 5.
