PNP tours flood ravaged Mo-bay

by November 24th, 2017

The Opposition People’s National Party says it was expecting the government to do more for persons affected by Wednesday’s heavy rains, which led to major flooding in Montego Bay.

Opposition Spokesman on Tourism, Dr. Wykeham McNeill led a tour of sections of Montego Bay, as business operators cleared debris from their establishments, with the hope of returning to full operations soon.

Most business places in the city kept their doors closed to the public today.

The PNP delegation toured several residential communities to include Felicity Road in Albion, Green Pond, Cornwall Courts and down town Montego Bay.

An Irie FM News  correspondent observed several tractors and trucks clearing silt and other debris from the north gully.

Dr. McNeill said there are some small business persons who operates on properties owned by the Factories Corporation of Jamaica on Felicity Road in Albion, who are now in a state of limbo as to how to get back on their feet.

He is also calling on the government to pay greater attention to the local residents, who were devastated by the flood.
