Police Commissioner Major General Antony Anderson is condemning the brutal murder of Woman District Constable Mellissa Edwards -Whyte.
The police woman who was assigned to Crime Stop, was chopped and killed during a domestic dispute at her home at about 9 o clock last evening
The Commissioner in expressing condolences says it is unfortunate, that domestic violence has robbed the country of another promising talent, adding that DC Edwards-Whyte was met with such cruelty and callousness, and no effort will be spared in bringing closure to this matter.
A statement from the Police Communication Arm, says the Chaplaincy and Community Safety and Security Branch have been instructed, to provide all the necessary support to colleagues and friends of the policewoman.
Members of the JCF are also being reminded to use the available resources : the Chaplaincy and Medical Services Branch, to help through domestic and other issues which impact their emotional, psychological and physical well-being.
