Police Commissioner suspends cop following incident in Trelawny

by April 15th, 2018

Police Commissioner Major General Antony Anderson has placed a Police Corporal from the Trelawny division, on suspension.

A statement from the police today says the suspension follows an incident which occurred in Clarke’s Town last week, and was captured on video which has gone viral on social media.

The officer was captured on tape behaving in what they police describe as an in-civil and unprofessional manner.

The video shows a police in what appears to be civilian clothing, chastising a person he identified as a justice of the peace, for what he calls his wrong approach and for not having any manners.

Another police man in dark blue uniform is then shown being boisterous and using expletives, while he referred to a person he identified as a JP.

This cop’s tirade continues for several minutes despite efforts by people around him, to have him calm down.

The Inspectorate of Constabulary is investigating the matter.
