Chairman of the Jamaica Police Federation, Corporal Rohan James, has indicated that the high command could be in trouble, if members are not paid money due to them, for overtime work.

The issue of overtime pay for police officers has been a long standing one.

In 2022, the court ruled in favor of a suit filed by the federation, seeking payment for overtime work.

The federation had maintained that officers were to be paid for working in excess of the agreed 40 hour work week.

Following the court ruling, the government stated that a system to properly calculate the overtime, would be implemented, and the police commissioner promised that the cops would get their payment.

Speaking during the funeral service for constable Damien Blair on Saturday Corporal James warned that there could be problems for the high command, if members do not receive their over time pay, this month.

He also warned that the police federation will not be silenced.
