Police Inspectorate Probing Motorcyclist’s Death

The Inspectorate of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has taken over the probe into the death of a biker in Negril, Westmoreland following a collision with a police service vehicle.

The dead man has been identified as 26-year-old Noval McInnis of Red Ground in Negril.

McInnis died after the bike he was riding collided with the police service vehicle along the Nampriel Main Road early Wednesday morning.

Residents of the area staged a fiery demonstration Wednesday after news spread of the incident.

The Inspectorate has reportedly assigned a sergeant from outside the parish to conduct the investigation and present a report on the incident to the Inspectorate for action.

Following the protest, a heavy detachment of police and soldiers was sent to the area to maintain calm.
