Police intensify search for missing St. Thomas teen, Winshae Barrett

The search for missing St. Thomas teen, Winshae Barrett has been intensified.

The 13-year old from the Bath community, was reported missing yesterday (October 16), shortly after 9 year-old Phylisa Prussia, who was reportedly abducted on Thursday (October 14), was found alive.

Up to news time, the police, members of the Jamaica Defence Force, residents and other stakeholders were combing sections of the parish in search of Winshae.

Commander of the Area 5 Police Assistant Commissioner Gary Griffiths, told Irie Fm News that there has been no sighting of Winshae, but there are reports that Davian Bryan, who was listed as a person of interest in Phylisa’s abduction, has been seen.

He noted that there is no proof that Bryan is responsible for Winshae’s disappearance.

 

And, Minister of State in the Ministry of Culture and Gender Alando Terrelonge is urging residents of Bath St. Thomas to assist the police in locating 13-year-old Winshae Barrett.

Addressing the National Heritage Church Service in Kingston, today (October 17), Mr. Terrelonge hailed the residents who helped in rescuing Phylisa, as heroes.

He said the efforts of the residents and the police show what can be achieved when the security forces unite with citizens to curb crime.

Mr. Terrelonge is calling for similar efforts to locate Winshae.
