by May 5th, 2022

The Portland Police have boosted their presence in the Moore Town community, in a bid to prevent any possible conflict, that may arise from a planned maroon election.

18-year-old Lomorra Dillon, otherwise called ‘Hope’, reportedly intends to challenge sitting Colonel of the Moore Town Maroons, Wallace Sterling, on Sunday, May 8.

Ms Dillion recently started her campaign for leadership of the Moore Town maroons, and has already garnered the support of maroons in other areas.

Colonel Sterling has been leader of the Moore Town maroons for almost three decades.

Head of the Portland Police Division, Superintendent Kenneth Chin, said Colonel Sterling, has indicated that he is not aware of any authorized election, and that he feels threatened by people associated with another maroon chief.

Superintendent Chin said he has spoken with Ms. Dillon about the matter.
