Police question owner of garbage truck that overturned on Clan Carthy primary school boy

The owner of a garbage truck, which was involved in a freak accident which claimed the life of a 7 year old at the Clan Carthy primary school in Kingston, on Monday, is being interviewed by the police.

 

Benjamin Bair, of Slipe Pen road, Kingston 5, was killed after a garbage truck collecting garbage at the school ran into a motor car before overturning on him.

 

The driver of the truck allegedly fled the scene, shortly after the incident.

 

Head of the East Kingston police, Superintendent, Victor Hamilton yesterday called on the driver of the vehicle and the solid waste company with which the school has a contract to report to the police immediately.

 

He told Irie FM News today that the owner, who has not been identified, has since contacted the police and is cooperating with lawmen.

 

He notes however, that the driver has not yet come forward.
