Police report high level of compliance with no movement days

by August 23rd, 2021

The police are reporting a high level of compliance so far, with the 7 no movement days issued by the government.

Today marks day two of the 7 no movement days, the first phase of which ends tomorrow (August 24).

Communications Officer at the Jamaica Constabulary Force, Deputy Superintendent Dahlia Garrick, told Irie Fm News that officers have ramped up presence in strategic locations to ensure compliance.

However, she says there have been breaches in relation to the compliance with the Road Traffic Act, noting that persons tend to speed due to the lack of traffic on the roadways.

She is urging citizens to desist from this practice.
