The police say there is no need for fear, following the fatal shooting of reputed gang leader Christopher “Dog Paw” Linton.

The assurance has come from Head of the Crime and Security Portfolio, Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey.

There are concerns about a flare up of violence, following the killing of Linton in a reported confrontation with police today (October 11).

DCP Bailey says Linton was shot dead about 2pm.

A .45 pistol was reportedly seized following the incident.

DCP Bailey says while a retaliation is not expected, the police stand ready to respond.
