Police urge citizens to ensure safety of home and children over holidays

by December 26th, 2020

The police are advising citizens to invest in safety features, such as sturdy locks and doors, or more advanced home security systems, such as alarms and CCTV camera systems.

This especially as many persons are either staying home for the holidays due to the Covid 19 protocols, or are at small gatherings with family and friends to celebrate Christmas.

Head of the police’s corporate communications unit, Senior Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay, is encouraging parents to be vigilant with their children’s safety, for instance ensuring that they do not talk to strangers.

And, as virtual communication becomes the norm, SSP Lindsay is advising parents to teach children, to never give out personal information.
