Representatives of the Portmore Municipal Corporation and the Ministry of Labour and Social Security are to meet tomorrow (April 4), to discuss assistance for vendors at the New Forum fishing village in St. Catherine, whose stalls were gutted by fire, this morning (April 3).

The Jamaica Fire Brigade said it received a call about the fire, shortly after 2 am.

A dozen stalls were destroyed.

Loss is estimated at 16.4 million dollars.

Speaking with Irie Fm News, Mayor of Portmore Leon Thomas, said an assessment of the area was done and efforts are being made to assist the vendors.
