Portmore United returns to the top of Premier League standings

Defending champions Portmore United moved back to the top of the point’s standings after battling to a two all draw with Waterhouse to close out match day 9 in the Red Stripe Premier League.

Roshane Sharpe opened the score for Portmore in the third minute but Waterhouse equalised courtesy of Ricardo Thomas in the 33rd.

Portmore would take the lead again through a 70th minute strike from Rosario Harriot but Waterhouse would ensure they would leave with a share of the spoils when Nicolay Findlay son restored parity in minute 88.

With the result Portmore moved to 17 points and ahead of Mount Pleasant on goal difference

Earlier UWI jumped to fourth place on goal difference after running away 3-1 winners over Montego Bay united at Wespow Park.

Rochane smith, Javoy Belnavis and Ryan Miller were all on target as UWI joined Portmore United on 14 points.

Fabian Reid scored twice as Arnett Gardens also recorded a 3-1 win over Dunbeholden at the Spanish Prison Oval.

The result pushes Arnett up to 5th place while Dunbeholden remain firmly rooted at the foot of the table.
