Hundreds of members of the football family locally, regionally and internationally were present today at the National Arena to pay their last respects to former JFF President captain Horace Burrell.
This at the thanksgiving ceremony which was also attended by leaders of all sectors of Jamaica, former reggae boys coach Rene Simoes was among those paying tribute to captain Burrell who he described as a visionary, first class and a top of the line man.
Former Reggae boys Ricardo bibi’ Gardner, Aaron Lawrence, Warren Barrett, national coach Theodore Whitmore, Walter Boyd and Onandi Lowe were also in attendance at the thanksgiving ceremony.
During the thanksgiving ceremony there were tributes from JFF vice-President Bruce Gaynor, acting CFU president Rignaal Francisca, Concacaf President Victor Montagliani and Norma Fearon- Moody, Alice Gillespie-Clarke and Sharon Irons-Francis of the Captains Bakery.
Former Prime Minister Portia Simpson miller and Sports Minister Olivia Grange also paid tribute to Captain Burrell.
Captain Burrell’s interment was at Up Park camp during a Private ceremony.
