Preparations in high for Jamaica’s hosting of the third Annual Carifta Triathalon and Aquathlon Championships in August.

Preparations are now well underway for Jamaica’s hosting of the third Annual Carifta Triathalon and Aquathlon Championships in August.

Athletes from 29 Caribbean and Latin American countries are expected to take part in the event to be hosted at Jewel Resorts in Runaway Bay

the two day event is expected to attract  some 200 male and female  competitors.

The tournament will host an open adult triathlon which will see local and international competitors such as Lori Sharpe, Elizabeth Mondon and Phillip Mcatty .

The Aquathlon consist of a swimming and a running component.

The swims will take place in the open seas at Jewels Resorts Runaway Bay while the cycling will traverse the Cardiff hall community.

The event was hosted by Trinidad and Tobago last year.

Competition will be in in the age group categories 11-12, 13- 15 and 16-19 male and female.
