Prime Minister Andrew Holness said the National Identification System, NIDS will be fully operational, this year, when Jamaica celebrates 60 years of Independence.

Speaking during a tour of the NIDS Enrollment Centre in Kingston today (January 4), where it was demonstrated how the cards will be printed and distributed, Mr. Holness said he believes it is imperative that NIDS be fully institutionalized in Jamaica’s 60th year of Independence.

He said NIDS will ensure that all Jamaicans have an identity.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of Jamaica being prepared for the new world driven by technology.
