Cyber teams from the police force and the Technology Ministry are probing the hacking of the Jamaica Information Service (JIS) website.

The government’s main media and information arm says the website, which was attacked last night, has been restored.

Chief Executive Officer at the JIS, Donna-Marie Rowe, says no sensitive information was accessed.

The website, which was down for four hours last night, displayed a message, which appeared to support the international terrorist group, Islamic State, also known as ISIS.

However, Mrs Rowe says at the moment, there is no confirmation  about who is responsible for the hacking.
