PSOJ maintains Integrity Commission can disclose cases

by September 7th, 2018

The Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) is maintaining that the Integrity Commission can disclose cases it’s investigating without breaching protocols.

Addressing the Rotary Club of New Kingston meeting this morning (Sep 7) PSOJ President Howard Mitchell said while he understands, that in depth reports cannot be provided, the country should not be kept in the dark as it relates to the activities of the commission.

Mr. Mitchell points out that it is the country’s business to know what are the objectives of the commission, and if it is functioning properly.

The Integrity Commission’s Act says until the tabling of a report in parliament, all matters under investigation shall be kept confidential and no public statement or report shall be made by the commission in relation to the conduct of an investigation.
