The country’s public health inspectors are disgruntled, and unsettled, after receiving news that they will not receive retroactive salaries owed to them, under the new compensation package, this month.

The Jamaica Association of Public health Inspectors (JAPHI) notes that it has had a rocky journey, dealing with the new compensation package, offered to inspectors.

JAPHI’s president Michael Myles, says the association was shocked, when it received a letter indicating, that arrears would be paid in February, and not December, as expected.

He is appealing to the finance ministry to rectify the situation.

Mr. Myles cited the issue of the recovery of allowances paid from April of this year, as another area of grievance.
