Rabada tops ICC Test Bowling Rankings

by March 13th, 2018

South African pacer Kagiso Rabada has regained the number one spot on the ICC’s Test Rankings for bowlers after bagging 11 for 150 against Australia in Port Elizabeth to help the home team level the four-match series at one-all.

Rabada, who incidentally has been handed a 2-match ban for two separate incidents during the second Test against the Aussies, leads the way 902, which is 15 points above England’s James Anderson.

The 22 year old also crossed 900 ranking points for the first time in the career – a feat that sees him becoming the fourth South African bowler after Vernon Philander, Shaun Pollock and Dale Steyn to do so.

The Indian duo. Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin along with Josh Hazlewood of Australia round out the top 5 places.

Kemar Roach (21), Shannon Gabriel (22) and Devendra Bishoo (24), are the West Indians inside the top 30.

Over on the batting rankings Kraigg Brathwaite at 15 is the highest placed West Indian while Steve Smith continues to hold top spot ahead of Virat Kohli, Joe Root, Kane Williamson and David Warner.
