The curtains for Rebel Salute 25 closed at minutes to 11 on Sunday morning at the Grizzly’s Plantation Cove in Priory, St. Ann.

The two day event which saw one of the biggest turnouts in the history of the festival was plagued by heavy rains which left patrons in a muddy situation.

Quickly, hustlers began selling plastic bags at three hundred dollars for a pair. Black, white and clear plastic bags were wrapped around the feet of many patrons who strutted through the muddy venue.

On Friday night it was Coco Tea, Anthony B, Third World, Tony Rebel, and Agent Sasco who had the patrons going.

Marcia Griffiths who was not billed for the event was exceptional. She appeared twice on stage; first with Daville and then with Tony Rebel.

Other good performances came from Bugle, Bushman, Jesse Royal, King Sound, and Wickerman.

Upcoming entertainers Chevaughn and Proghress also did well.

On Saturday night patrons saw outstanding performances from Romain Virgo who was short and sweet. Freddie Mcgregor showed us why he is a world class entertainer. I-Wayne left nothing to chance. He burned everything in a fiery set.

Louie Culture, Kenyatta Hill, Leroy Gibbons and Leroy Gibbons all did well.

Capleton was high energy, so too was Elephant Man who had patrons dancing up a storm in the mud.

Luciano was good but overstayed his welcome. Beres Hammond who joined him on stage for a short stint was refreshing.

Other good performances came from I-Octane, Gyptain, Ding Dong, Barrington Levy and Sanchez.

Despite a few production glitches and logistics issues, Rebel Salute 25 was a success as the massive braved the weather to support the reggae festival.
