Reggae Boyz hold firm on FIFA Rankings

Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz for the second consecutive month have remained put at the number 54 spot on the FIFA Coca Cola World Rankings.

A feat that sees the Theodore Whitmore conditioned outfit remain number one in the Caribbean and 4th highest in Concacaf overall.

The Jamaicans in their most recent outing coasted to a 4-0 win over Cayman Islands at the National Stadium on Sunday to follow up on a 2-0 defeat in a friendly international against Ecuador in New Jersey.

The team will next face Cuba in a pair of friendly encounters on October 2nd and 5th before playing away to Bonaire in the CNL qualifiers on October 14.

Regional giants Mexico, meanwhile, lead the way despite slipping a spot to 16 followed by the United States (up 3 places to 22) and Costa Rica who occupy the number 32 spot after dropping 9 places.

Honduras (61), Panama (69), El Salvador (71), Canada (79) and Trinidad and Tobago (91) are the other Concacaf teams inside the top 100.

World champions France continue to lead the rankings ahead Belgium who moved above Brazil to second with Croatia and Uruguay completing the top 5.

Rounding out the top 10 places are England (6), Portugal (7), Switzerland (8) and Spain and Denmark who are joint 9th.

Argentina are 11th – after a falling 6 places – followed by Chile (12) who slipped 3 spots.
