Reggae Boyz midfielder Peter-Lee Vassell on trial stint in Norway

by October 6th, 2018

Reggae Boyz midfielder Peter-Lee Vassell is settling in on a 10 day trial in Norway with Norwegian top-flight club IK Start.

Vassell, who plays for Harbour View, joined up with the team earlier this week and had his first training session on Wednesday after leaving the island on Monday.

The club’s director of sports Tor-Kristian Karlsen said “Basically, it is a visit and if he thrives with us and the opposite, it may be appropriate to get him back in winter and he may be training in the run-up. Then there is also a transition window that has been opened, if it should be relevant”.

Karlsen adds that they will see it next week if there will be more after this training session.

“It’s a player who has first and foremost potential. He is a great talent. The idea behind this is not that there is a player who intends to reinforce the team, this is a long-term project”, he says.

IK Start, currently second from bottom on the table, are also the team of Reggae Boyz defender Damion Lowe.

They return to action with a game at home to 9th place Sarpsborg on Sunday.

Both Vassell and Lowe will be a part of the Reggae Boyz squad for the Concacaf Nation’s League game against Bonaire in Curacao on October 14.
