Reggae Girls slam St Kitts 10-nil in Concacaf Caribbean Under 17 World Cup qualifiers

Jamaica’s Under 17 Reggae Girls opened their Concacaf Caribbean Under 17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers on a winning note this afternoon after slamming st Kitts and Nevis 10-nil.

Monique Perrier, Giselle Washington, Christina salmon and Rochelle gray all netted twice for the Jamaicans in the one-sided contest.

The girls travelled for almost two days before arriving at the team’s hotel just before mid-night last night and Coach Xavier gilbert told Irie Fm sports that despite the challenges he is satisfied with a job well done. “It was a very good performance by the young ladies, credit must be given to them I have to lift must hat off to them, we wanted to go an press St Kitss early and we did so, we got two eagerly goals and we were in control of the game, they did not get a chance to even get a shot at goal, and that was good, I think we were all over them.”

Added Gilbert, “The girls worked hard, and while a number of them suffered cramps overall they did well.”

The Reggae Girls will play their final game qualification on Sunday against host St Vincent and the Grenadines.
