Education Minister and Jamaica Labour Party candidate for North West St. Ann Ruel Reid has stated that his decision to enter representational politics is to help strengthen the leadership of the Prime Minister.

Mr. Reid said he also wants to offer a better service to the people of the constituency, as their member of parliament.

North West St. Ann is currently represented by the PNP’s Dr. Dayton Campbell.

While addressing JLP supporters at a constituency meeting in Browns Town last evening (Aug 19) Mr. Reid said he will be giving the doctor a prescription to vacate the seat.

Meantime, JLP Leader Prime Minister Andrew Holness urged the party supporters to ensure that Reid wins the seat for the Jamaica Labour Party, in the next election.
