by May 16th, 2022

We want roads!” was the cry of some residents in Eastern Westmoreland as they protested today (May 16) over the state of the roads in the area.

Residents blocked the roads from Frome to Darliston.

Meanwhile MP Daniel Lawrence said the roads would be rehabilitated, but some protesters wanted to know when the works would be done.

Meantime, the Eden Park Bridge in St. Mary was blocked today as residents highlighted their frustration over the poor state of the Hamilton Mountain roadway.

Member of Parliament for Western St. Mary, Robert Montague acknowledges that the Hamilton Mountain road is in need of repairs.

He explains that the National Works Agency did an estimate and the process is underway to have the road repaired

Mr. Montague says he and the Councillor were in Hamilton Mountain recently and a number of concerns were addressed.

The Western St. Mary MP says he understands the residents concerns and is ready and willing to meet with them as soon as the road is cleared.
