The Eden Park bridge in St. Mary has been blocked as residents highlight their frustration over the poor state of the Hamilton Mountain roadway.

The protest has impacted the Oracabessa High School with reports of some teachers not turning up for classes.

Meantime Member of Parliament for Western St. Mary, Robert Montague acknowledges that the Hamilton Mountain road is in need of repairs.

He explains that the National Works Agency did an estimate and the process is underway to have the road repaired.

Mr. Montague says he and the Councillor were in Hamilton Mountain recently and a number of concerns were addressed.

The Western St. Mary MP says he understands the residents’ concerns and is ready and willing to meet with them as soon as the road is cleared.
