Residents of Parade Gardens in the Kingston Central police division have welcomed the Zone of Special Operations (ZOSO) in their community.

It follows a spate of murders in the division.

Speaking with reporters today, the residents said the ZOSO has brought peace and joy to the community.

One man expressed that he feels much safer.  He said if the ZOSO is effective, it should be extended.

The residents say they are willing to work with the security forces.

Meanwhile, head of the Kingston Central Division, Superintendent Beresford Williams says there is a stark difference in the conduct and behavior of the citizens, as a result of the increased security presence.

He notes that the residents of Parade Gardens have welcomed the imposition of the ZOSO.
