Former West Indies team manager Ricky Skerritt has as reported on Irie Fm just over a week ago confirmed his intention to challenge Dave Cameron for the position of Cricket West Indies president.
The 62 year old Skerritt the current president of the St Vincent & the Grenadines Cricket Association, was a Cabinet Minister and Senator in the national assembly of St Kitts and Nevis and has also served as minister of tourism.
Skerrit who currently sits on the Cricket West Indies Board will be running alongside Dr Kishore Shallow, who is also a director of cricket west indies who will be running for the role of vice-president.
Their nominations were supported by the Leeward Islands Cricket Board and Trinidad & Tobago Cricket Board.
Skerritt and shallow have confirmed that they will propose a six-year term limit on the presidency.
Incumbent Dave Cameron will be seeking a 4th consecutive term when the elections are held on March 24 here in Jamaica at the Annual General meeting of the board.
Cameron was first elected president of the West Indies Cricket Board in 2013, defeating then incumbent president Julian Hunte 7-5.
