Rohit Sharma first batsman to hit 3 double centuries in One-Day Internationals

Skipper Rohit Sharma became the first batsman to hit three double centuries in One-Day Internationals as he powered India to a 141-run win over Sri Lanka in the second ODI in Chandigarh to level the three match series at one-all.

Sharma smashed an unbeaten 208 off 153 balls coloured by 13 fours and 12 sixes to power the hosts to an imposing 392 for 4

His first hundred came off 115 balls, and his second was much quicker off just 38 deliveries. He also shared in a second wicket stand worth 213 with Shreyas Iyer who scored 88.

Shikhar Dhawan who made 68 was the next best batsman in double figure.

Bowling for Sri-lanka Thisara Perera bagged 3 for 80.

Chasing 293 to win Sri Lanka fell at 251 for 8 despite a unbeaten century of 111 from Angelo Matthews. This against Yuzvendra Chahal who picked up 3 for 60, with Jasprit Bumrah bagging 2 for 43.

The third and deciding match will be played on Sunday.
