Russell comes under fire for ditching West Indies for Big Bash league

by December 15th, 2021

The decision by West Indies T20 batting star Andre Russell to play franchise cricket over representing the West Indies is again under fire by regional cricket stakeholders.

An explanation from Cricket West Indies Vice-President Dr. Kishore Shallow was hit for six last evening on the Mason and Guest show in Barbados when he tried to explain the decision of the Jamaican star who is currently playing in the Australian Big Bash League instead of the White Ball series in Pakistan.

Host Andrew Mason reacted harshly to the explanation offered by the CWI Vice-President.

Former West Indies fast bowling great Sir Andy Roberts who was equally critical of the explanation offered by Shallow says players like Russell don’t want to play for the West Indies.
