Rwandan President Paul Kagame arrives in Jamaica for 3-day state visit

President of the Republic of Rwanda, Paul Kagame has arrived in the island.

He arrived at the Norman Manley International Airport, in Kingston, this afternoon (April 13).

While in Jamaica, President Kagame is expected to call on the Governor General, as well as meet with the Prime Minister and other government officials.

A statement from the Office of the Prime Minister said the 3 day state visit is expected to strengthen the relationship between Africa and the Caribbean community.

The visit, which comes during the year of Jamaica’s 60th Anniversary of Independence, represents an important opportunity for the deepening of bilateral relations, between the countries.

Mr. Kagame will join the Prime Minister at Jamaica House this evening, for the launch of “Jamaica 60″.
