Same venue and date for Toots and Bunny Striker Lee

The bodies of reggae greats Toots Hibbert and Bunny Striker Lee will be viewed at the same venue, and on the same day.

Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Olivia Grange announced that the viewing will take place on Friday, November 13, at the National Indoor Centre, instead of the National Arena.

According to Minister Grange, “The viewings will take place within the same time frame at the same venue but in two separate spaces. She further stated that both men contributed significantly to the development of the Jamaican music, adding that they will both be given their due.

She’s also encouraging the public who attend the viewings to abide by the COVID-19 protocols that will be in place, including the wearing of masks, social distancing, hand sanitizing, and temperature checks.

Both Toots Hibbert and Bunny Striker Lee will be buried on Sunday, November 15. Bunny Lee at 11:00 am at the Dovecot Memorial Park, and Toots at 3:00 pm at National Heroes Park.

Toots Hibbert of the legendary Reggae Band, Toots and the Maytals died on September 11 at the University Hospital of the West Indies in Kingston at 77 years old following a brief illness.

Meanwhile, 79-year-old Bunny Striker Lee passed away on October 6 after a prolonged illness.
