Scorpions ready to sting!

by January 26th, 2021

The Jamaica Scorpions will open their campaign in the 2021 Regional Super 50 Competition against Trinidad and Tobago at the Sir Viv Richards Stadium in Antigua on February 11.

This after the opening encounter on February 7 between the Leeward island Hurricanes and the Windward Islands Volcanoes at the Coolidge cricket ground.

The Guyana Jaguars will go up against the Barbados Pride at the same venue a day later and on February 10 it will be the Leeward Islands Hurricanes against Barbados Pride also at the Coolidge Cricket ground before the action switch the next day to the Sir Viv Richards Stadium.

Jamaica Scorpions coach Andre Coley says the team is eager to go out and play.

This year’s 19 match competition will end on Saturday, February 27 at the Coolidge Cricket ground, which will also host the semi-finals.

2019-20 Champions, West Indies emerging players, are unable to defend their trophy due to Covid-19 constraints, however several of those players now feature in the squads of the six competing franchise teams.

Each team will play each other on a round-robin basis with the top four teams qualifying for the semi-finals and the opportunity to reach the grand final.
