The Education Ministry has made good on its commitment to engage a security firm to provide patrol and response services, in a bid to allay the fears of students in the Corporate Area.
The security measures were announced following an increase in robberies and other serious offences against students, in the Kingston Central region last month.
Safety and Security Coordinator at the Ministry of Education’s Safety and Security in Schools Unit, Richard Troupe, says a security company has been contracted for a period of 50 days.
The safety and security coordinator notes that the program is working extremely well and schools are actively engaged in the process.
