Two security guards were shot, one fatally by the police during a pre-dawn operation in Negril, Westmoreland, this morning.

The men were allegedly mistaken for gunmen.

The deceased has been identified as Dellon Harding.

The other man who is 28 years old is being treated at hospital.

The incident reportedly took place, shortly after 4:00 a.m., on the compound of a supermarket and cambio in the Negril Town Centre.

The matter has been reported to the Independent Commission of Investigations and the JCF’s Inspectorate and Professional Standards Oversight Bureau.
