A security guard was stabbed to death at Simmond’s plaza in Ocho Rios, St. Ann, on Monday morning.

His identity has not yet been released by the police.

The man who is said to be in his 20‘s and from St Mary was reportedly attacked while on duty some time after 4 a–m.

It is said that he phoned the supervisor on shift after being stabbed but was not able to receive aid before passing.

Speaking to Irie Fm news, manager of the security company with which the deceased was employed, Collin James said they are in mourning but noted that counselling will be provided for the workers.

He said the company has lost a determined worker.

In the meantime, another co-worker said that though he only knew the deceased for a short time he seemed to be a good person.
