Serial rapist Davian Bryan sentenced to 25 years in another rape case

Convicted serial rapist Davian Bryan has been sentenced to 25 years imprisonment in relation to the rape and abduction of a college student, in Portland.

 

Bryan had been charged with forcible abduction, grievous sexual assault, and rape, in relation to the student, who was sexually assaulted last March.

 

He had previously pleaded guilty to 12 counts on matters involving sexual assault pertaining to 3 separate complainants in the St. Thomas Circuit Court in May.

 

He was sentenced to serve 23 years in prison, with eligibility for parole after serving 16 years in that case.

 

Last month, Bryan appeared before the Portland Circuit Court and pleaded guilty to the offences in relation to the college student. He was sentenced yesterday, by Justice Vaughn Smith.

 

A statement from the Director of Public Prosecutions yesterday outlined that on the first count of forcible abduction, Bryan was sentenced to 9 years and 3 months imprisonment.

 

On the second count of grievous sexual assault, he was sentenced to 16 years and 9 months imprisonment.

 

And, on the third count of rape, he was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment.

 

He will be eligible for parole after serving 18 years.
